yo guys,
Here is a detailed description of the last day of your army. You booked in to camp. Normally, you drive or your other camp mates who ORD on the same day will drive you in. Nobody walks. Its so unglamorous. Today is your big day!
Do your dental and medical FFI at the medical centre. Collect your SBO, helmet, field pack and dekit (meaning return your ET blade and stick...). Sign clearance form which requires running up and down to find the various officers. Handover whatever tasks thats left to your understudy. Brief him properly so that he won't have to call u and ask questions when u r a citizen of the free world.
Bid all the remaining camp mates who ORD later goodbye. Assure them that their time will come. Usually, a lot of pple will mouth vulgarities "shit u lah, ORD so early." Just don't pissed off anyone cause your may suffer from party pranks. Please remember to bring an extra dry shirt. In my unit, no ORD personnel gets out untouched.
Go to S1 branch. Collect your beautiful, immaculate, exquisite pink IC. Say: "Pink IC, long time no see!" Kiss it.

just asking if anyone among us is a paying SAFRA club member. note the word paying. this means that the free membership given to all NSFs doesn't count. edison and I are having a tough time finding a SAFRA member in order to book our chalet at the end of the year. so pls sound out if u or your family member is a paying member. we can bk the chalet then. otherwise, we may have to avoid the SAF and SAFRA chalets.

HOI AN is one fot eh 5 UNESCO World Heritage site in Vietnam.. the others being Halong Bay, Cuc Phong National Park, Hue and My Son... i have already been to Hoi An (obviously), Halong Bay (during my backacking trip) and My Son(which i shall leave for another day's blog).

gals!!! you will love Hoi AN... the tailors here are very very glad to see tourists. tourists= $$$ haha.. you can made a blouse made for as little as US5!!! haha.. and you get to choose your own material! haha... as for guys.. you will enjoy the laidback kind of life.. (if that is what you are looknig for in a trip) .. sit in a cafe.. and watch the world go by... it is totally... relaxing. if you ever come here, you will find that the place is full of Chinese influence. temples. assembly halls. :)

it's me again... right now, the time is 12.45am and i am watching the Sharapova-WIlliams match!.. it has just started. haha...

i must say that the class gathering was a blast... i thought it was absolutely brilliant.. (oh dear.. Sharapova grunts in the background....). we finally got some girls to attend the gathering! yippee! haha..

yulinda sports a new haircut now, which she calls the PINEAPPLE! coOL!. haha... oh, Yulinda, you hair colour is really nice! haha

(the match has sort of become a shouting match.. Sharapova grunts while Williams does her own sort of grunting... i hope my neighbours wont complain)

really enjoyed myself today.... talking and laughing! it was bLooDy Fantastic! oh yes, i didnt know that we had so many medicine students in our class... adila counted and the number was like 15!!! wah! haha...

how was Mr CHan's wedding?. GREAT i suppose?
how is everything back in Singapore man? i seriously dont know what is going on in the world ccause i havent really been reading th news! haha

right.. today is 17June and in 4 days, i will be back home. hmm... hahah... yeah back in singapore. so my journey took me through really interesting places like Ayuthaya, Kanchanaburi, Luang Prabang, Phonsavan, Vang Vieng and Halong Bay.

LOL! yeah... i sort of listed everything i went to !. haah... ayuthaya was like a ruin city. what i mean is the place has ruins! lOL... pardon me for my poor english :)... yeah and Kanchanaburi is a little town. what i liked most abt the place was the guesthouse i stayed it... a lil like resort actually... for those who took SEA History, you wll find Luang Prabang really familiar..i mean the NAME LOL.. sme vassal state of France right? hahah... wah... that place is really good to unWIND and Chill. yeah... Phonsavan has the PLAin of Jars which no one really knows about.. :). Vang Vieng is known for its limestone caves and HALONG BAY... oh man, you shud just go there and take a look! bloody NICE>! hahaha

dont mention it! i had lots of fun yesterday as weLL!... it sort of made me feel young again (but dont ask me why....hahaha) i am just happy that i am able to make another person feel happy ! yeh!

for the benefit of those who din turn up... here's a short recaP!

i really had a great time yesterday! the fun started when we entered Swensen's. it was my first time at this branch (the Crown Prince Hotel one).. haha... i saw the menu.. then asked Ibnur.. "when did the fish and chips costs 15.80?" hmm... never mind... oh then we all realised that ... it was a set..no wonder. haha...

"how abt if we jsut order the ala-carte one?"
"oh sorry... the price is still the same... "

haha... in the end, 7 of us had the cheapest.. FISH BAKED RICE> priced @ $12.80 2 had fish and chips.. edison who came later.. took the curry chicken backed rice..

come to think of it.. not too bad lah... baked rice in ala carte menu already $9.80.. add soup and a lovely cuppa... more than $12.80 liaoz. haha.

hao xi hai zai hou tou ( more exciting stuff coming uP)... we saw a cake " eh... why got 2 large candles and 4 small ones... isnt that like 24yr old?" our eyes trailed the cake.. closer.... closer..... coming towards us... oh that waitress tooka turn.. aiyah no wonder.. it wasn;t for stan..

right... " how many candles would you like?" the question was directed to me... ipaused.. i got stumped... i got stunned.. i was really shocked..for like 5 secs haha.. i smiled.. said 20.... (oh ddear). haha...

"happybdae..... " rang out ... it was LOUD, mind you.. everyone kept quiet.. haha..eyes looked at us.. hahah we continued singing@! haha yeAH!.. it was STAN's bade... yeah yeah... make a wish make a wisH! we screamed.! hahaa... all right.. i thot stan looked a bit ovrwhelmed at that moment haha. "cut the cake stan!"... we din sound and behave like 20 yr olds.. but who cares! ( anway... i am not 20 ! ahha and ZP isnt 20 as welL)

the next remark from stanley drew laughter from everyone!... can laugh until roll on the floor lor.. "F^*@ing hard!!" hahaha... even stan broke out laughing after sturggling to cut the metal-hard ice cream cake! we decided to make use of their service... not a bad decision as we were rewarded with ten nice slices of the mango ice cream! yUmMY.

but then. i was REALLY fuLL!>

stan: can i have my free ice cream NOw/??.
(waitor walks towards us, lights the candle in the middle of the ice cream bowl!...)

thanks to zhi peng (okie, i know it isn't your fault, domino effect of several pple MIA).
morning i was at RJC, then i went to NUS. so one train ride from bishan to clementi.
then, it was 5.20pm, i was on the train from clementi to orchard mrt (class gathering). At city hall MRT, was told by zhi peng gathering postponed. so i headed back home.
reached queenstown mrt, janice called me. felt obliged to go back to orchard and joined the fuming gal (guess who she was mad over). ended up me, janice and blanche mini gathering.
at first felt ambivalent about coming out again next sat, then stanley told me its his bday next sat. so we shall not boycott the gathering man. i mean stanley is the man. should give him face.

what can i say man? generation Y/Z last minute in everything. teens/young adults.

how are you all man? i am writing this on the eve of the next class gathering! .. haha. oh well, it is Friday night and i am at home, enoying my wonderful MP3!.. right guy.. i have something to share.

some fateful day in classroom 3-6. Lesson: can;t remember.. was it Civics? Time: can't remember as well... as you can see, everything is a blur...

a fat guy steps up in front of the class to deliver a "speech"...

"many of you might not know this... but i am actually not from Singapore... but from Nepal. Right, i see some surprising looks on your faces and i can understand why. You might b thinking why my surname is %^&.?

let me first talk abt Nepal in general. Nepal is a landlocked country; some of the neighbouring countries include India, Sikkim, Bhutan and Tibet. Nepal is also known as the Himalayan Kingdom. this is rather controversial as many other places claim to be that as well... in order to gt access to the sea, Nepal must maintain good relations with India. Nepal, is such a beautiful country.. once u enter it, you sort of feel rejuvenated refresehed revived because of the scenery. it has on of the most spectacular landings you can ever find in the world. the airplane descends in the midst of the mountain ranges, among the snowcapped mountains....

i was born in SG and a short while later, i settled in Nepal. i stayed on for about ten years in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. i had my education at the Kathmandu Grammar School and met people from all over the world. they are mostly children of volunteers that are working in Nepal. basic education was what we had in the school, things like english, mathematics were taught...

however, the locals are not so lucky. some of them were so poor that they had a huge hole in the shorts they were wearing. others had to dig in the rubbish heap, hoping to find some things that could be of some value. teir eyes.. their eyes had an emotion that bore through your heart. it was sad. it was heart wrenching. it was heart breaking. their technology is so basic that they use vehicles to crush the wheat ( accomplished by having the vehicles rolling over it)......"

okie, haven't felt so guilty for the first time in ages...

sorrie abt the inefficiency. kangyi, pls go ahead with ur merry parties and yaya weekend lifestyle! laoshi still hasn't gotten back to us yet, so i didn't make any arrangements. but will do will do asap. and i think some of us are starting to realise that 3 weeks for a study break still just isn't enough!!! hahar, but will do my best. and blanchie too... she's getting laoshi! and really think we shouldn't have a class gathering on a separate dae from going to see laoshi, since most of the class pple will come and see laoshi, then can shun bian. otherwise to get de same pple on another dae will be difficult.

yupz, what a sweet nostalgic post, camel!!! believed i wouldn't have really made it through all the long school terms, day in and day out, if our class wasn't our class. hehez, hence, i apologize once again for the non-existent class gathering!

medfac is 50% rafflesians... and so are most scholarship boards, and goodness noes what else. some pple once told me that rjc students just walk into the interview room differently... hahar, what crap! but still, miss being an rj student. speaking of school, i can't believe ccas no longer count points. at least now, pple won't be so 'pointistic' and u get pple who are in it for the lurve of it!

hi guys and gals from 2SO3J. a class i dare say... in a class of our own... seriously. which class can boast of ... US>.. every single one of us that made 3J a gem?

yesterday... CA2 just ended... so ZEd and i trooped down to NYDC at Wheelock together with 2 of ur friends... we started talking. i dont know why.. but we started talking abt JC life!

I might hav started it by talking about the "oh-so-KIND" Mrs TAn that sat through 2 hours with me, tutoring me on countless questions taht i highlighted in the orange TYS... a lovely ting to keep.. unfortunately i passed it onto my cousin.

the topic then went onto 3J... wonderful world of 3J... th class of jokers. i really enjoyed everyone's company. i remember our chem lab lessons. it was not at all a practical. it was more of a POTION MAKING class in Hogwarts, just that out Potions teacher wasnt the 'fear-instilling' Snape... it was th lovely.. bouncing... lively.. Ms CHua! actually i remembered that the back half of the class was where the action were! jam-packed with action figures like Stanley! ZED! and the wandering Isaac... of course we cant forget the GREAT KANGYI!

whenever in Chem lab, if you smell something new.... not ester, not H2SO4, not whatever gas that u mugged.. chances are that STAN the MAN has created some new POTION. lovely bubbling liquids... or shud i say ELIXIRS of LIFE... so tempting to just down it and attain immortality! hahaah... add a pinch of Zinc. add a dash of Iron Powder.... 5ml of acid.. wahlah... u get LOVE POTION no.9... too bad it isn't CHANEL No.5

there was once it was RAINING POTATOES in bio pract. we were still in J1 back then with Ms WEE at the helm. hahahaha... victor was using the plunger to shoot the potato discs into the sky! a live demo of trajectory motion! briLLIANt.

ok i think that is nuf for now. shall talk abt the lovely Isaac;s Museum of BIOdiversity another time!

todae, we had pbl tutorial (where we do case studies). this particular one happened to be on postmenopausal vaginal bleeding (the patient in question had cancer of the edometrium lining of the uterus). in any case, the tutor and us began on a bad footing... cuz' she canceled on us a couple of times, and then sounded quite sarcastic over the phone. but turns out mdm sarcastic had a real keen sense of humour and the tutorial was highly entertaining when we did finally have it. so in any case, isaac, as usual, made a huge contribution to the clowning and laughter. we were discussing the topic of what brings on menopause, and when is its onset... and isaac suggested that menopause starts when they stop having sexual intercourse... which of course, got the tutor's attention... and to bring it a step further, isaac went, "i've always been wondering about menopause and sex..." lolz! by de gawds, why? the bemused tutor politely answered his query with the example of elizabeth taylor and her thirties hubby. but i'm sure she'll remember isaac very well now... cuz' after a while, when we got onto the topic of how a well-oestrogened vagina looks lyke as compared with an atrophied (or degenerated) one, a very eager isaac promptly answered, "oh,, a well-oestrogened one looks very healthy... and..." and of course before he could complete his sentence, the whole class already dissolved into laughter. and our tutor was pressing him for his source of information... another classmate was lyke, " erhm... through show and tell lor..." aiyor, we laughed until stomach hurt liaoz... but our determined isaac still strove to finish his answer... which of course, only set the class off even more. then poor isaac was despaired, and went, "aiyar, dun want to say anymore alreadi..." and den of course, we let him finish, tho amidst lots of laughter. and these were just two significant examples... isaac displayed an avid interest throughout during discussion. in the end, our tutor specifically assigned him (and he was the only one who was specifically assigned a topic by the tutor, the rest of us chose our own) with the task of learning how a cancerous endometrium lining differed from a normal healthy one, since apparently, he was such "expertise on the subject"!! but anyway, isaac wasn't alone in all these. the guys in our tutorial group (includes wayne, etc...) they can spent hrs on such conversation topics, filled with innuendo... so i'm not surprised. probably the same for all you guys out there. hahar, if i recollect anything else, i'll post!

btw, i saw isaac and dis rjc gal at some mrt station yesterday. apparently he keeps going to real obvious places... where he's sure to be spotted by someone... i think quite a number of you shld alreadi noe about this... it's just that i finally did spot him!

jane has already left for melbourne (quite long ago alreadi, hehez) and is now officially a student of melbourne... and she's surrounded by hot australian hunks who are all younger than her!!

Thanks for the concern, but really, there's no need to send me off. The world is so small anyway and I'm sure opportunities will arise where we can all meet again.
